Besides being the Creative Lead and Co-founder of Islet Studio, Robert is a Short Documentary Director, Tabletop Director, and Cinematographer who has worked for the likes of Grab, DC Asia, Tik Tok, Bumble, Certis, and Telstra. Drawn to filmmaking for its way of emotional engagement like no other, Robert isn’t afraid of breaking traditional storytelling conventions to create impactful and cherished films. When he is not obsessing about filmmaking, he enjoys longboarding, and attending to his exotic plants and beloved feline, Chiri.

Soo Ghee

Co-Founder, Director, Producer

Soo Ghee is the Co-founder of Islet Studio, Director, and Sound Engineer with 4 years of experience in the video production industry. Calm, collected, and with an eye for the bigger picture, Soo Ghee can always be counted on to make crucial decisions on set. He derives great pleasure from collaborative filmmaking, even the grueling hours it takes to bring a film to life. To him, it’s all worth it when the final cut is exactly as envisioned. In his downtime, Soo Ghee likes to catch up on the latest NBA highlights and is quite the wine enthusiast.

Andrew Gooi

Story Consultant, Director

Andrew Gooi is a Malaysian-born director based in Minneapolis, MN. His deep interest in food traditions has led him to capture over a hundred food transition and culinary films around the world. These films would garner the James Beard Award for Visual & Technical Excellence, joining the likes of Netflix’s Chef’s Table and Anthony Bourdain’s Parts Unknown. His previous work includes All-Clad, HBO Max, Uber Eats, Sweetgreen, Tartine, Vita Coco, Schwan’s and Nestlé.

Chng Senn

Director, Editor, 2nd Camera

After graduating from The One Academy with a degree in Multimedia, Chng Senn found his true passion for capturing stunning visuals that encapsulate the essence of human emotions and storytelling. His active presence on Instagram serves as a testament to his unwavering dedication to immortalizing the beauty around him. With a keen eye for aesthetics and a go-with-the-flow nature, he effortlessly brings out the best life has to offer through his lens. When he’s not tied up with a project, you can spot him wandering around town, snapping breathtaking moments wherever he goes.

Sean Tan

Editor, VFX Specialist, Assistant Camera

A talented graduate of The One Academy, Sean serves as our team’s indispensable technical expert, always up to date in the latest technology to give himself an edge. His expertise in post-production encompassing 3D, VFX, and editing, guarantees that our visuals are always of exceptional quality. Sean’s proficiency in crafting intuitive and secure camera rigs ensures that our team consistently captures the perfect shot. Outside of work, Sean can often be found scaling the walls at a local bouldering gym or tearing it up at the skate park.

Yuji Hoshino

Director, Production Manager, Assistant Producer

Despite being the youngest team member, Yuji consistently brings humor to lighten the team’s atmosphere. He handles the roles of director, production manager, and assistant producer with impressive versatility, seamlessly blending creativity with a sharp analytical mindset. Apart from his creative duties, Yuji plays a crucial role in the operational aspects of the business, streamlining processes with his strong organizational skills, ensuring that projects stay on track, and promoting smooth team collaboration. Outside of work, Yuji enjoys and competes in ballroom and Latin dances.
